DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2022.5518
ABSTRACT: In a savanna climate, the soil surface is tilled solely to reduce evaporation during the dry summer period.
Where models exist for predicting water and heat movement through soils, soil conductivity, thermal diffusivity,
and soil bulk density are required. To overcome difficult physical properties of soil, the soil temperature
measurement was designed and built directly and accurately with locally sourced materials. Six semiconductor
temperature (DS18B20) sensors, a tipping bucket, a graphic display, a real-time clock, a miscroSD card shield, and a
microcontroller comprise the device (arduino mega 2560). The temperature sensor has a resolution of 0.0625 oC
and a maximum temperature of 120 oC, making it suitable for measuring soil temperature. The tipping bucket has
0.2794 mm per tipping and a real switch time of 1 ms. The log of the datalogger.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2022.5520
ABSTRACT: Periodontitis is a state of inflammation caused by bacteria in the oral cavity. Typical clinical symptoms of
periodontitis include gum inflammation, alveolar bone loss, clinical attachment loss and periodontal pocket
formation.Through the years, the association of periodontal disease with other non-infectious systemic diseases has
been brought to attention.A growing body of scientific evidence has shown that severe periodontitis may enhance
susceptibility to certain important systemic diseases and conditions, for example, cardiovascular disease, diabetes
mellitus, adverse pregnancy outcomes, chronic kidney disease, cancer and pulmonary infections. Here, we give a
review of the available evidence supporting this association, and the possible mechanisms involved.

ABSTRACT: Breastfeeding is a form of interaction between a mother and her baby. The thing that becomes a factor of
failure and success during breastfeeding is the mother's self-confidence or what is called self-efficacy. Other factors
such as the support provided from parents are also the cause of the mother's success in breastfeeding. The purpose
of this study was to find out whether there is a relationship between mother's perception of the support given by
parents to mother's self-efficacy in breastfeeding in the Cakung District Health Center, East Jakarta. The research
method uses a quantitative descriptive design with Pearson Correlations. The samples of this study were mothers
who had babies aged 0-6 months and breastfed their babies and lived together at their homes in the Cakung District
Health Center, East Jakarta. There were 97 respondents involved in the research. The results showed that most
parents provided support to breastfeeding mothers in the Cakung District Health Center, East Jakarta, with a
maximum score of 40 with a frequency of 1 respondent (1.0%) with an average of 29.21. The results of the selfefficacy of breastfeeding mothers in that area get a maximum value of 60 with a frequency of 3 respondents (3.1%)
with an average of 47.30. There is a relationship between the support given by parents to the self-efficacy of
mothers during breastfeeding in the Cakung District Health Center, East Jakarta, with a significant correlation of r
count (Pearson Correlations) of 0.518 > r table 0.1975. There is a relationship between the support provided by

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2022.5523
ABSTRACT: This study on the effects of spacing on growth, yield and weed suppression of rice variety in Port
Harcourt was conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture Teaching and Research Farm, University of Port Harcourt.
Experimental design used was Randomized complete block design (RCBD) with four treatments (15cm x 15cm,
20cm x 20cm, 25cm x 25cm and 30cm x 30cm) and replicated four times. Data were collected on growth
parameters such as plant height, leaf area, numbers of leaves, numbers of tillers, while yield parameters were on
weight of grains, weight of panicles, weight of fresh tillers, weight of dry tillers and number of panicles at harvest.
Weed parameters were also taken. The result of the study showed that a spacing of 25cm x 25cm had a higher
growth rate of 114.70cm and yield of 302.70kg/ha compared to narrow row spacing of 15cm x 15cm which had
102.70cm and 220.33kg/ha respectively. The result also showed that significant differences were observed on
weight of panicles, weight of fresh tillers, weight of dry tillers and weight of grains. Therefore, farmers are advised
to use spacing of 25cm x 25cm for optimum yield and growth of the rice variety; and weed suppression was better
in narrow spacing of 15cm x 15cm in the study area.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2022.5524
ABSTRACT: Particulate air pollution is a mixture of solid and/or liquid particles suspended in the air. They can be
classified based on natural and anthropogenic sources. Some natural occurrences like volcanic activities, storms, and
forest burning leads to air pollution. Anthropogenic activities are due to human activities, which includes industrial
sources, personal, utility.
Particulate matter can also be classified into primary and secondary pollutants. Primary pollutants form through
natural and anthropogenic conditions. Secondary pollutants include SO2, NO2, VOC, and NH3.
High exposure to particulate matter affects everything in nature—human's health, plant's produce, and material's
economic values.
This research was carried out to measure the level of pollution in Ilorin Metropolis to study the concentration of
common particulate pollutant—PM1.0, PM2.5, PM10 and TSP. The sampling site can be classified classified as
industrial, commercial and residential areas. The study shows how dominating human activities in each environment
influences particulate air pollution

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2022.5525
ABSTRACT: Hypertension is a health problem with a high prevalence. Global hypertension cases are estimated at 22%
of the total world population. Around 2/3 of people with hypertension come from middle to lower economic
countries (Ministry of Health, 2019). In Indonesia, in 2021 it is estimated that the prevalence rate of hypertension in
Indonesia is 31.7%, which means that almost 1 out of 3 people aged 18 years and over suffers from hypertension
(Ministry of Health, 2021). Someone will be more susceptible to hypertension if there is a family member with a
history of hypertension. In addition, someone over 65 years of age and having congenital diseases such as diabetes
and kidney disorders is also at a higher risk of developing hypertension. Risk factors for hypertension that we can
control include unhealthy eating patterns, a sedentary lifestyle, consumption of cigarettes and alcohol, and obesity.
(WHO, 2019). This study aims to determine the effect of the multimedia learning model on changes in the
behaviour of elderly people with hypertension in disease control. The population of the study were all elderly
hypertension with a sampling strategy using purposive sampling with a sample size of 30 people. The research
design used is descriptive analytic with a quasi- experimental approach. The data analysis test used was univariate,
bivariate with paired t-test for the effect of the multimedia learning model intervention on changes in the behaviour
of the elderly in controlling hypertension. The results showed that there were significant differences in knowledge,
attitudes and behaviour about how to control elderly hypertension between the intervention group and the control
group after the intervention (p value: 0.000). Conclusion: the multimedia learning model has a significant effect on
the behaviour of hypertensive elderly people in controlling disease.

The Ripple Effect: Unraveling the Intricate Relationship Between Tech Sector Layoffs and Consumer Spending Patterns in the San Francisco Bay Area
Toyin Amunigun
DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2022.5526
ABSTRACT: This study conducts a rigorous investigation into the financial and economic implications of tech sector
layoffs on consumer spending patterns in the San Francisco Bay Area. Utilizing a unique dataset comprising daily
and weekly data from March 13, 2020, to February 19, 2023, the analysis employs local projection methods to
explore the dynamic relationship between layoffs and consumer spending. The daily data analysis reveals a
statistically significant negative correlation between tech layoffs and consumer spending, with an estimated decrease
of 0.002 percentage points in spending per additional layoff at day 8 (p-value of 1.71e-12). These findings align with
the theoretical underpinnings of Mueller (1966) and Reich (2001), which emphasize the impact of unemployment
on consumer spending. Conversely, the weekly data analysis yields mixed results, with significant fluctuations
challenging the derivation of concrete insights. To alleviate the detrimental effects of job losses, the study
recommends implementing comprehensive severance packages, outplacement support services, and fostering a
culture of continuous learning within the workforce. By providing a robust analysis of the intricate relationship
between tech sector layoffs and consumer spending patterns, this research offers valuable insights for future studies
and policy development in the context of workforce displacement.

GABRIEL MARCEL'S PHILOSOPHY OF "THE OTHER:" A MEANS TO BEING HUMAN
Elias Method Sanga, Rev. Dr. Nyambedha J. Apiyo FSJ (1st Supervisor) and Dr. Fredrick Wanjala (2nd Supersvisor)
DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2022.5528
ABSTRACT: It is believed that, 'unity is power.' Unfortunately, we are gradually losing interest in each other. Presence
and availability to the other is very much challenged by the modernity, new life styles and the advancement of
science and technology. Electronic gadgets distance us from encountering and being available to those around us.
Think of many people walking with earphones listening to different audios and videos or playing videogames in
places where they could encounter the new other. This leads to the individualistic life, whereby, due to lack of an
experience with 'the other,' one does not see the value of the other and assumes that life can go on without the
other. It is others who make us visible and important in whatever we do. We are able to focus on whatever we are
doing because we know that; there is the other person who is somewhere, either waiting for my service or waiting
for me to fail and replace me. So without the other, most of our doings are meaningless. To make this louder, one
can just imagine, how could life be, if he was alone in the whole universe. Life is to be lived in the society where
healthy relationship between the self and 'the other' is of great value. This article is a call for us to live related with
others amidst all the challenges that may hinder or discourage our human relations. There is power in unity and
communion than in self-hood. In order for us to claim that we are in a particular human interaction with the other,
our relation should not be superficial but intrinsic to the level of 'communion.' This communion must be leavened
by meaningful presence, availability and communication. Meaningful presence is more than being there physically, it
is also spiritual. Availability goes deeper to disposability of oneself to the other. Communication is not only in
understanding the symbolic meaning of the words but understanding the human condition of a person. One relates
well with the self when he or she is able to relate well with the other. This is Gabriel Marcel’s call through his
philosophy of ‘the other’ as it is discussed in this article.

Using Green Facades to Improve the Thermal Impact of Educational Campus Buildings with
Special Reference to the Universities of Canada in New Capital, Egypt.
Enas Elhalwagy 1, and Marwa El-Zoklah 2
DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2022.5529
ABSTRACT: Many buildings nowadays are designed with sustainability considerations. However, a large portion of the
building stock was constructed prior to the implementation of sustainability principles. These buildings, which were
designed using traditional methods, are the primary consumers of energy and resources. Although energy-efficient
new construction applications are an important step toward sustainability, existing buildings must be retrofitted to
achieve the desired ecological impact. The building envelope is the most accurate predictor of the energy used for
heating, cooling, lighting, and ventilation. The building envelope is defined as the interface of energy losses due to
its direct interaction with the external environment conditions. Building energy requirements must be reduced,
energy efficiency must be increased, and systems that support the use of sustainable energy sources must be put in
place to reduce energy use in buildings. The main aim of the research is to find the best solution of educational
buildings facades to improve its efficiency and save energy. This research will discuss the problem of thermal impact
through literature review and simulation in case study the university of Canada in Egypt.

Organizational Commitment as Mediator of Leadership Style, Teachers' Performance and School Success
Gerard S. Bedonia 1, Edilberto Z. Andal, EdD 2
DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2022.5530
ABSTRACT: The organizational commitment of teachers plays an essential role in their performance that contributes
to school success. However, the type of leadership style that school leaders' exhibits have also been linked to
organizational commitment of their subordinates. Thus, this study determined organizational commitment as
mediator of leadership style, teachers' performance, and school success. It utilized quantitative and descriptivecorrelational approaches to gather data. The respondents of this study were 222 public elementary teachers of
Candelaria West District. It was conducted during the third quarter of the school year 2022-2023. A researchermade questionnaire validated by educational experts in the research was used in generating data. The study revealed
that there is a significant relationship between teacher's performance and school success to the school head's
leadership style. Likewise, organizational commitment does mediate the leadership styles, the performance of
teachers, and the success of schools. Based on the above findings, the following recommendations are given: It is
suggested that the school leaders continuously practice understanding the needs of teachers and provide them
assistance if need arises to promote teacher's empowerment. Then, teachers are considered important aspects in the
educational paradigm thus, appraising their professional and personal development is essential in sustaining their
organizational commitment. Followed by continuous involvement of stakeholders and teachers in school matters is
relevant in attaining school success. Thus, shared governance should be sustained. Lastly, for the future researcher,
a follow up study can be conducted using a regression analysis to identify the predictors of teacher's performance
and school success.

ENTROPY METHODOLOGY OF PHYSICO-CHEMICAL PROCESSES
Korablev G. A., Professor,
DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2022.5531
ABSTRACT: All phenomena and processes in the nature and world proceed only in two energy directions: either along
the force field gradient with minimum energy input (entropy) or against the gradient with maximum energy input
(negentropy). The graphs of S-curves and their nomograms characterize the dynamics of change of entropic
components depending on the process main parameters. The condition of the system stationary state is the equality
or constant of the correlation between its entropy and negentropy (equilibrium dynamics). The entropic
methodology functionally provides the basis for physical and chemical regularities in all main scientific fields. The
adequate application of geodesic angle in structural interactions can increase the efficiency of the catalysis initial
parameters. The concepts presented in the work provide theoretical and practical possibilities to use the entropic
methodology in research works and technological innovations.
